With the largest penetration of smartphones and broadband in Europe it is a good candidate for the implementation and spread of NFC-based mobile payments. However, the country’s economic outlook and its traditional way of living, as well as worries over mobile and contactless card security, might hinder the proper implementation of these new technologies.
