Redemption Dollar Volume, Transaction and Average Ticket Growth Stumbled In July. Overall redemption dollar volume growth of -6.3% in July marked the first time in twelve months that year-over-year growth was negative. Furthermore, redemption transaction and average ticket growth showed slowed growth at 6.5% and -12.0%. The redemption average ticket growth, which was the lowest growth since July 2011, continued to be impacted by the retail discounting environment.
QSR Activation Dollar Volume and Transaction Growth Showed Healthy Improvement. Although overall activation dollar volume and transaction growth fell in July, QSR activation dollar volume and transaction growth continued to perform well. Gift card buyers are attracted to QSRs due to their perceived value which has appealed to consumers that are focused on stretching their budgets.
